Minervahaven

For a large plot along Haparandaweg in the former harbor area a design has been made to house offices, studios and small businesses. The concept for this building is based on the so-called ‘solids’: buildings that have a flexible setup so that they can easily change functions in the future. One future scenario could be to turn this building into an apartment complex.

The 17.400 m² multi-purpose building has a ring-like setup with a free column structure and easy-to-reach installation floors. Around the central atrium business spaces can be connected vertically or horizontally. Collective spaces such as meeting rooms or restaurants can be located on the waterside on the west side. The large main entrance opens up to the corner of the street.

The new building has a sturdy and solid appearance that fits the character of this former port area. The facades have been designed in structural concrete elements. On the inside wooden finishing have been applied to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
